Being single is so much more than choosing not to be in a relationship, or even waiting for the right relationship. Just like being a human person is much more than your marital status. Whoever you are, you should take the time to Discover You.
What types of things do you like to do in your spare time?
What interests you?
Are you athletic, creative, persuasive or funny?
Where do you see yourself in 6 months, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years from now?
What goals do you have currently have for yourself?
Do you have dreams that keep you up at night?
All of these are valid questions that you should ask yourself to begin on the road to Discovering You. We do ourselves and the world around us a great disservice when we walk through life arbitrarily. There is real God-given purpose on the inside of you and when you don’t pursue that purpose, the world misses out on the gifts God planted within you and ultimately suffers because of it. Our country and our world is suffering greatly because of the lacking manifestation of the gifts God has planted in the earth, through us.
There is more to you than physical features, material possessions and who you’re in a relationship with. God created you a unique and amazing individual. Be cautious of following trends and lending your ears to doctrines that come and go like the wind. Do not loose you, by becoming them.
To discover God’s purpose for your life, is to Discover You.
Psalm 139:13,14 says “For it was You who created my inward parts; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You because I have been remarkably and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and I know this very well.” (HCSB)
(By the way, Psalm 139 is an amazing read), so through this scripture we see how careful and intentional God was when He created each of us. This lets us know that we weren’t a mass production, but a masterpiece from the hands of the Almighty! You have something great to offer because of the greatness of Him that created you.
Philippians 1:6 Says “I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (HCSB)
This scripture shows us that we are not alone. We have a Purpose Partner, none other than the Almighty Himself! God plans to stick with you to see His purpose flourishing and you living blessed. But you’ve got to stick with Him!
The world tells us that we’ll find our self by being “free” and doing whatever makes us feel good. But I say, you’ll find yourself by seeking the will of Him that created you!
Remember, To discover God’s purpose for your life, is to Discover You.
Genesis 1:11 Says “Then God said, “Let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” And it was so.” (HCSB)
This shows us that God will never have to undo what He’s created. In His infinite wisdom, He’s hidden a seed in each creation, that it may reproduce itself, and continue it’s purpose upon the earth. God has hidden seeds of destiny and talents within you before you were born. Bear fruit and your fruit will multiply through the lives of others. This is the strategy of the Kingdom. Discover who God created you to be.
Until Next Time, Be Blessed.
